WARNING!! Randomness ahead Yeap… you read it right. On my way home today, I was followed by a wombat. Today is one of those rare days where my charm has failed me and my boyfriend insisted on me handing over the key to his car and tell me I should take the bus home while he take the car to the pub. Most of the time I get to hog the car and he can catch the bus (even though it’s HIS car). No, my boyfriend is not David Tenant, but I wouldn’t mind driving a TARDIS. It was 5pm when he dropped me off at the bus stop. The sun was still out and the sky was bright. So I decided to do a 180 degree turn and go shopping instead… should only take me 5 mins to get some groceries – I thought. Alas, being a girl I got distracted – I should have known better. After 30 mins of window shopping and deciding on which one of the mini chicken roasts from Lenards I should buy, I finally got the stuff for dinner tonight. It was getting dark when I hopped onto the bus and darker when I hopped off. There is a big park between the bus stop and my house. I hate walking through the park when it’s dark. I hate it more when I have to walk through it wearing heels – which was the case today. Mainly because I hate ghost (not that there is ghost in the park, at least I haven’t met one and I don’t want to find out otherwise, but I still hate ghosts). Usually the scariest creatures in the park are magpies. I heard they attack people. A friend mentioned a few years ago that they usually attack people with dark hair (is this fact or fiction?). Unfortunately, I have dark hair.. and I am naturally a paranoid person, so I’ve been scared of magpies ever since she said that. In my imagination, the park is infested with ghosts and magpies. Anyway, that’s beside the point. There was no magpie in the park today. I was walking across the park as fast as I can on heels while listening to my ipod and daydreaming. Suddenly, in the middle of the park, I saw some movements from the corner of my eyes. There was this big round dark thing making a halt about 3 metres to the right of the pathway, 5 metres ahead of me. I couldn’t really see what it is. I assumed it’s going to be a dog or a cat. Though normally stray dogs or cats don’t go to the park when it’s dark or cold. It was cold.. as always in Canberra. I switched off my ipod and walked on slowly. When I was finally on the same row as the thing, I recognised it as a wombat. I’ve never seen a real live wombat before (I’ve seen a couple of dead ones on...
